Bulletin Announcements

Announcements for Holy Communion may be made for next Sunday by signing up in the black book in the narthex, or by speaking to the pastors any time during the week.

Flowers on our altar today celebrate the wedding of Joseph Shaffer and Kayla Loeffler which took place yesterday, July 24th at Good Shepherd. May their marriage be blessed greatly as they begin their new life together.

No VBS this year: We will not have Vacation Bible School this year. The Elders extended 7 divine calls for a VBS Coordinator, but none of those called were able to serve in that way this year. We reached a point in the calling process where there was not enough time to make appropriate plans for holding VBS. If you are interested in knowing more about the Coordinator position, please contact Pastor Quinn.

The Saginaw Valley Lutheran Chorale will hold its first rehearsal for the Christmas season on September 19, from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at Michigan Lutheran seminary. If you have previously been a member, please come again! If this year should be your first year singing with us, please do! This is a change from previous announcements, due to a Hymn sing being planned for September 12 at MLS.

MLS Needs Some Help: With the summer growing season underway, there are plenty of opportunities for gardening maintenance projects around campus. MLS could use help with weeding and trimming, especially. If you can help MLS out, please call the church office for contact information.

Ladies Shopping Trip: The annual shopping trip for the ladies of the congregation interested in going will be to Charlevoix. There is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board with a choice of two nights or one night. If the majority wants one night only that will be July 31st. If the majority wants two nights then the dates will be July 30th and July 31st.

Pregnancy Counseling Center Renovation Update: All interior walls have been framed in! The first floor doesn't look so big anymore. A hearty thanks to volunteers for an entire work day erecting interior walls. The next workdays will be devoted mainly to plumbing. However, there still are a few other things to do such as removing crumbling plaster and other things that protrude from the surface that we have to fasten new drywall to, removing a few old windows, framing in the old window openings, and temporarily covering the openings, and some general cleanup. We are still looking for a good deal on commercial carpeting.
